Chapter 20: Overwhelming

After helping Millie into her house, I prepared to leave, intending to find Mia. 

However, Millie grasped my hand, her expression dazed and almost pleading. "Caden, help me to the bed. I'm completely drained, without an ounce of strength left."

Left with no choice, I assisted Millie into the bedroom. She clung to my arm as she fell onto the bed, pulling me toward her.

"Caden, I'm not feeling well. Won't you stay and keep me company?"
