Chapter 45: A Visitor

"Caden, that's enough. Stop hitting him; you'll get into trouble if you kill him," Nora said as she rushed over and grabbed my hand.

"Alright, I'll stop. I'll listen to you," I replied.

Seeing Nora all disheveled and with eyes red from crying stirred a protective instinct in me. I picked up the bamboo basket and hoe again.
